Loved to Love
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.”
— 1 John 4:16 (NIV)
This verse gives us two beautiful truths: God is love, and we can rely on that love. Notice it doesn’t say God has love—He is love. It’s His very nature. Every act of kindness, patience, or forgiveness you receive flows from who He is.
“Whoever lives in love lives in God.” This isn’t about perfect performance—it’s about remaining. Like a branch in a vine, you stay connected to Him through trust. When you feel unlovable, remember: His love isn’t based on your behaviour. It’s based on His character.
To love more, we must first know and experience God’s love more.
We cannot give what we haven’t received. Trying to love others through sheer effort will exhaust you. But when you truly know and rely on His love for you—experiencing it deeply through prayer, worship, and daily gratitude—that love naturally overflows to others.
Then pause. Let that truth sink in. As you soak in His love, you’ll find yourself more patient, more forgiving, and more giving—without burning out.
