START MIDDLE END You plan. God establishes. But how do you walk the long, ordinary middle?

Proverbs 16:9 — “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”

谋事在人，成事在天 — “Planning rests with man, but accomplishment rests with Heaven.”

Wisdom demands planning. But Scripture draws a clear line: you plan, God establishes. Yet what about the in-between — the daily, gritty space between surrender and fulfillment?

❶ The Start: Surrender Before You Plan

Proverbs 3:5–6 — “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

Your perspective is limited. You see the next mile; He sees the entire horizon. Your job: trust. His job: direction.

✦ Action: Before you plan, pray — “Lord, I don’t trust my plan; I trust You. Show me the first step.”

❷ The Middle: Walking It Out Daily

① Roll your work onto Him

Proverbs 16:3 — “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.”

The Hebrew galal means roll onto — like rolling a heavy stone off your back. Roll every task onto Him each morning.

② Pause and be still

Psalm 46:10 — “Be still, and know that I am God.”

Build pauses into your day. Stillness recalibrates your soul. Stop striving; remember who is in charge.

③ Walk by faith, not by sight

2 Corinthians 5:7 — “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

When the roadmap goes dark, faith is your headlight. Take one step based on who God is, not on what you see.

④ Keep a grateful, prayerful heart

1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 — “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances.”

This is the emotional engine of the middle. Without it, waiting becomes anxious. With it, waiting becomes sacred growth.

✦ Action: Each day, focus on one of these four rhythms. Rotate weekly.

❸ The End: Release the Outcome

Proverbs 16:9 — “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”

Detours are divine. Closed doors are redirection. You may not see the whole journey, but you can trust the One who orders each step.

Lord, before I write a single goal, I acknowledge You. I refuse to lean on my own understanding. Guide my thoughts and align my plans with Your will.

In the middle of every ordinary day, help me roll my work onto You. When I’m tempted to worry, help me be still. When I can’t see ahead, give me faith for just one step. Keep my heart grateful and prayerful.

And when I reach the end of my planning, help me release the outcome to You — trusting not just with the destination, but with every single step along the way. 谋事在人，成事在祢 — I plan, but You establish. Amen.
