The Greek word is G3115 makrothumia

longanimity, that is, (objectively) forbearance or
(subjectively) fortitude: - longsuffering, patience.

1 Patience in time - Waiting without complaining

• Psalm 27:14
  • "Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD."
• James 5:7-8:
  • "Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord's coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord's coming is near."
• Psalm 37:7:
  • "Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes."
• Hebrews 6:15:
  • "And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised."
• Proverbs 14:29:
  • "Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick-tempered displays folly."
• Hebrews 6:12
  • (6:12) so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

2 Be Patient with Others -  Bear & Forgive Others

• Ephesians 4:2:
  • "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love."
• Colossians 3:13:
  • "Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you."

3 Longsuffering against Persecution -  Endurance

• Romans 12:12:
  • "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer."
• 1 Peter 2:19-20:
  • "For it is commendable if someone bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because they are conscious of God. But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God."
• James 5:10
  • As an example of suffering and patience, brothers, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.

4 Presevere in Doing Good -  Be not tired & depressed

• Galatians 6:9:
  • "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."

Summary:

• Be patient in waiting, suffering, bearing & forgiving others.
• Be persistent in doing good.

Prayer:

May God gives us patience, especially during times of waiting, trials, and uncertainty. Let's put our trust in God's timing, remain steadfast in our faith, and continue doing good without growing weary. Praise the Lord. Amen.
