1 What is Love?

Love is not a feeling but a will, a decision to do.
The feeling eventually comes.

- Romans 12:9-10:
- "Love must be sincere
- Hate what is evil;
Love has hate - hate evil & lies because they destroy life
cling to what is good.
Be devoted to one another in love.
Love is loyalty
Honor one another above yourselves."
Love is Honoring others
- 1 John 4:19
We love because He first loved us.
- John 3:16:
- "For God so loved the world that
he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

- "Jesus replied: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"

Love forgives, repairs & saves

Even when we reject God, Christ died for us.

Love is sacrificing.

Always with You no matter what.

It is not a feeling but a commitment.

- Proverbs 17:17:
- "A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity."
- 1 Corinthians 13:13:
- "And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love."
Faith and hope are future-oriented.
Love is NOW. Love transforms and overcomes.
Love is eternal, and timeless.

- All the virtues of the Fruit of Spirit can be summarized in Love.
- But love is such an abstract word that needs to be defined more specifically.
- Love is not a feeling but a will, a decision to do. The feeling eventually comes.
- The keys are truth, righteousness, goodness, kindness, forgiving, honoring, etc.
- Love also means hatred for evil and untruth.
- Love is unconditional. We can't earn it. If you can earn it, then it is a reward
and a payment for your work. We give it no matter what for right and good and true.
- May we realize the love of God for us so that we may love with the love that God has done and given to us. May the grace of God enables us to love like Him and glorify Him in our actions. Praise be to God. Amen.

2 爱是主动
- 约翰一书 4:19 我们爱，因为他先爱了我们。

3 爱神和人

4 爱如同神爱我们

5 爱联结
- 歌罗西书 3:14：
- “在这一切之上，要存着爱，因为爱是联络全德的绳索。”

6 爱克服恐惧
- 约翰一书 4:18
- “爱里没有惧怕，爱既完全，就把惧怕除去，因为惧怕里含着刑罚，惧怕的人在爱中未得完全。

- “爱不加害于人，所以爱就完全了律法。”
7 爱在行动中
- 哥林多前书 16:14：
- “一切事情都要凭爱而行。”
- 约翰一书 3:18：
- “小子们哪，我们不要只在口头上爱人，或是用言语来爱人，而要在行动和实诚中爱人。”
8 爱是无条件的
- 罗马书 5:8：
- “但神证明了他的爱，就是我们还是罪人的时候，基督为我们死了。”
- 即使我们拒绝神，基督仍为我们而死。
- 以弗所书 5:25：
- “丈夫们，你们要爱你们的妻子，正如基督爱教会，为她舍己。” ---爱是牺牲的。
9 爱是一种承诺和投入：
- 路得记 1:16-17：
- “但路得回答说：“不要催促我离开你，不要逼我回头不顾你，无论你往哪里去，我也要往那里去；你住哪里，我也要住哪里；你的人民就是我的人民；你的神就是我的神。你在哪里死，我也要死在那里，就是耶和华这样待我，加倍地惩罚我，只要死能把你我分开。” --- 无论发生什么事，我都会与你同在。
- 马可福音 10:9：
- “所以神配合的，人不可分开。” --- 这不是一种感觉，而是一种承诺。
- 箴言 17:17：
- “朋友时常相爱，弟兄为患难而生。”

- “如今常存的有信、望、爱，这三样，其中最大的是爱。”
- 信心和希望是面向未来的。
- 爱是现在。爱能改变和战胜。
- 爱是永恒和无时间的。
总结：
- 圣灵的果子中的所有美德都可以归纳为爱。
- 但爱是一个抽象的词，需要更具体地定义。
- 爱不是一种感觉，而是一种意愿，一种决定去行动。感觉最终会产生。
- 关键在于真理、公义、善良、仁慈、宽恕、尊重等。
- 爱也意味着憎恶邪恶和虚伪。
- 爱是无条件的。我们无法赢得它。如果你能赢得它，那么它就是对你工作的回报和付款。
- 我们无论如何都会给予它，因为它是正确、善良和真实的。
祷告：
愿我们意识到上帝对我们的爱，以便我们能够用上帝所赐予我们的爱去爱人。
愿上帝的恩典使我们能够像祂一样去爱，并在我们的行动中荣耀祂。赞美主。阿们。
