Leading by Example
⚓
π
This verse is not primarily about peace. It’s about leadership—specifically, leading by example.
⛓️Paul writes from prison and makes a startling claim: “Whatever you have seen in me—put it into practice.” He doesn’t just teach truth; he models it. His life is the curriculum.
π£Biblical leadership isn’t commanding from a distance. It says, “Watch my life. Follow me, as I follow Christ” (1 Cor. 11:1). Paul points beyond himself to Jesus—visible, imitable, reproducible.
π«
This is not pride—it’s accountability - accountable to Christ and measured by Christ's teaching and standards. False humility says, “Don’t look at me.” True leadership says, “Look at me as I follow Christ, and do what you see.”
π️And notice the result: “And the God of peace will be with you.” When we behave rightly as followers of Christ, God’s peace is simply there — no accusation, no falsehood, no sin. Peace isn’t the goal we chase; it’s the atmosphere of a walk that matches our witness.
π§ Keller: transparent gospel ministry — a life open enough that others see how the gospel works.
πΏPrince: not self-effort, but overflow of resting in Christ. Right believing produces right living — a pattern others can follow.
❓“Am I living in a way others can copy?”
