When I first read the story of how Adam and Eve sinned in paradise, I was puzzled that Adam should have eaten the fruit from the "Tree of Life" first rather than from the "Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil", then Adam would have lived forever! Or maybe not, the curse of death may be stronger than the blessing of life? I also regret that we can no longer eat the fruit from the Tree of Life anymore. But is it true?
The answer is no. We can eat from the fruit of the Tree of Life. This is because of Jesus. Jesus is the Life.
- John 6:35 Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.
- John 14:6 - Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
- John 11: 25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
So, Jesus is the Tree of Life. We can then eat from the Tree of Life by accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior, and we shall never die but have everlasting life.
Have you eaten from the Tree of Life to have eternal life?
