Set Your GPS · Heaven
“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.”

Paul doesn’t say, “Try to be raised” or “Earn a heavenly position.” He says, “Since you HAVE BEEN raised” — it’s a done deal. Your resurrection with Christ is already a spiritual reality the moment you believed.
Just because you are raised doesn’t mean you automatically live like it. Paul follows the fact with a command: “Set your hearts.” That means seek, desire — your affections, your longings. Point your desires upward. Let Christ be what you truly crave.
The Gospel Order
Most of life runs on: Do → Have → Be.
- Do enough → Have approval → Be accepted.
- Do enough work → Have money → Be secure.
- Do enough pleasing → Have love → Be valued.
It’s a treadmill. You never do enough.
✦ The gospel flips everything: Be → Do → Have.
BE: Already raised with Christ. Chosen. Forgiven. Seated with Him.
DO: Set your hearts above. Your doing flows from your being.
HAVE: Not stuff — you have Christ Himself. He is your life.
The Anchor
“where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.” He reigns. And because you are raised with Him, you are seated with Him in authority (Eph 2:6). You’re not fighting for victory; you’re fighting from victory.
The Daily Choice
Live ACCORDING to your identity — or CONTRARY to it?
- Worry? — I am seated with Christ. Pray instead of panic.
- Approval? — I am accepted. Stop performing.
- Grudge? — I am forgiven. Extend grace.
Your behavior is simply your identity showing up.
The Freedom in Failing
You won’t live this perfectly. That’s why Paul uses “set” — deliberate, repeated. Reset daily. Even when you fail, your identity hasn’t changed. You don’t slip out of being raised. You just slip out of living like it. Turn back — you’re not starting over; you’re remembering who you are.
Today’s check
“Am I doing this to BECOME someone — or because I already KNOW who I am?”
If your doing is trying to earn your being — stop. Breathe. You are already raised with Christ. Set your heart above and live freely.
🙏 Prayer
Father, thank You that I am already raised with Christ. Today, I reset my heart. Lift my eyes above my circumstances. Let me see my work, relationships, and struggles through Your throne. I rest in who I am — Yours. Let my living flow from that identity. Reign through me today. Amen.
